The Missions Committee exists to keep the congregation informed about the work of our missionaries and their prayer requests and to support our missionaries with our interest, prayers and finances. We desire to promote an interest in both foreign mission work and local mission works among the members of our congregation. It is our prayer that God would encourage the hearts of each member of our congregation to be a part of the global mission of our church through prayer, financial giving and working on short or long-term mission fields.

MEET Our Missionaries

The Fitzpatricks: Puerto Rico with Mission to the World (MTW)

Joe and Bev have been serving in San Juan, Puerto Rico with their three children (Joey, Anna and Justin) since 2006. Joe has completed a doctor of ministry degree in pastoral counseling from Westminster Seminary and is teaching Old Testament and counseling in various seminaries and church-based study centers. They are also involved with Briarwood Presbyterian Church’s San Juan church-plant, La Travesia.

Bill Meyers: Fort Drum, NY with Navigators

For many years Bill was the director of a Christian Servicemen's Center called Shalom House in Dongducheon, Korea. Since the spring of 2010 he moved locations to use his wonderful relational and discipleship skills to minister to the men and women stationed at Fort Drum as a representative for The Navigators.

COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL

We have partnered with the Children's Ministry Committee to help teach our children about missions. To do this we have “adopted” Antonio through Compassion International. Each week the children learn about Antonio and pray for him and give an offering which is used to buy gifts for him. Antonio is 5 years old and lives in the mountainous community of Aldea Santa Avelina in Guatemala. He lives with his father, his mother and two siblings. His father is a laborer and his mother takes care of the home. He is not yet attending school but he likes playing with cars, ball games and running. He attends church activities regularly.

Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.             -John 20:21
