WORSHIP SERVICE

Children’s Bulletins are available each week which provide age appropriate activities and pictures to color. There is one bulletin for 4-6 year olds and another for 7-9 year olds. Children may pick up crayons, pens, activity pads, and notebooks from behind the back row of chairs at the center entry to the sanctuary.

PRe-ScHOOL CHURCH

This program during the worship service is for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. This is a teaching program with a prepared curriculum of stories, singing, activities and crafts. A snack is also provided. Children who participate in this program should be comfortable with being separated from parents/guardians for about an hour, as children are dismissed for Pre-School Church about 15 minutes into the worship service. Each session is staffed by two trained volunteers from the church congregation.

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered to all, including children, at 9:45am before the 11am service. For children, Sunday School begins with all children in the fellowship hall for opening exercises. During this time the children sing Bible songs, practice for presentations to the congregation and learn about missions through the Compassion International child they sponsor. At approximately 10:00am the children move to their classrooms for age appropriate lessons taught by trained volunteers from among the church members. The curriculum used is from Great Commission Publications which presents the story of the gospel as presented throughout the entire Bible.

Infant Nursery Care

The nursery for infants and children under 2 years old operates during the worship services. The room is supplied with age appropriate toys and story books and a table and chairs. There is a crib in a separate small room for a sleeping baby. The nursery is staffed by a trained volunteer who must be a church member.

Working With Children

FROM OVERTURE 6 – GEORGIA FOOTHILLS PRESBYTERY
“CHILD PROTECTION IN THE PCA”

“All church leaders should become informed and take an active stance toward preventing child sexual abuse in the church by screening staff and volunteers, training them in child protection, and actively maintaining child protection policies pertaining to our obligations to love our children and protect their rightful interests as God’s image-bearers from the devastating actions of abusers (Matthew 18:5-6)."

Due to promptings from the PCA and our own Biblical mandate to protect children, we have currently updated our Child Protection Policies. If you would like a copy of our policies and code of conduct, please ask a member of the Session or our Child Protection Coordinator.
